This daisy was amongst a whole host of them on a grass verge. They were so pretty, so i stopped the car and snapped this one.

Hi Carol, thx for your comment. This is nice! Why dont you use the Manual setting.. I think it would be more beautiful if u using smaller apeture (maybe f/3.5).

Lovely photo! As Ridzuan says, you could go with a smaller aperture, but there is enough blur there already with the dark background to really set off your subject. Once the aperture gets too small, it becomes much harder to get the crisp focus that you have here. It's especially wonderful for a quick snap at the side of the road. Well done!

Great DOF, Carol! I took a similar shot the other day, but discovered there were ants all over it, when I uploaded it into Photoshop! So glad you posted this one for me.

Sorry, just popped back to clarify that I meant "smaller aperture NUMBER" (which is actually a LARGER aperture).
